island paradise
Liz and I just met up with Katie on Koh Tao, a beautiful island in the Gulf of Thailand. We survived Angkor Wat, saw many beautiful deteriorating temples, took lots of Lara Croft-esque photos, and got harassed by many cute begging children. Sadly no Maddie. Yet. More on what we have been up later, but the sun just came out and the internet here is outrageously expensive. I should be on the beach.

Is this what we should be expecting? Updates every 10 days or so. Glad you're surviving. Give us more details when you get to the land of cheap internet and cloudy beaches.

hi darlings. i'm so glad you're enjoying yourselves in koh tao. have you been diving or just lazing around on the beach? both sound wonderful...
ben, on a more serious note, i'm totally disturbed by the bombings in bali. did you read that one of the bombs went off on jimbaran beach, right next to the four seasons? as in, EXACTLY where we were sunbathing together a year and a half ago? oh, and just to clarify, ben and i were definitely not staying at the four seasons. i'm heartbroken about the fact that after all the hardship they suffered after the first bali bombing, all the warm, generous, amazing indonesians we met are going to go through that crap all over again. i don't want to dampen the tone of your blog too much so i'll leave that at that...
on a lighter note, i've been seeing the "malaysia, truly asia" campaign all over the place and thinking of you. katie, have you asked ben to belt out that jingle yet?? his mastery of that jingle is matched only by his extraordinary ability to hit the high notes in sinead o'connor's "nothing compares to you" in a korean karaoke room.
anyway, i'm really excited at the prospect of seeing you guys in the relative near future again. eat some 20 baht papaya salad off the street for me. ben, keep katie from consuming too much pineapple on the beach so her mouth doesn't start bleeding like last time! love you both. take care of yourselves.
